Grand Master Steve Ross is the Founder and President of the United States Tang Soo Do Association, Owner and Chief Instructor of Orange County Academy of Martial Arts. Recently inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 2010, he is the highest-ranking Certified Master Martial Arts Instructor in the art of Tang Soo Do in Orange County. 

Master Ross began his studies in 1971 at the age of 11 at the Kingston Youth and Civic Club in Kingston Oklahoma.  From 1971 to 1978 he studied Tae Kwon Do, Jiu Jit Su, Goju-Ryu, Judo, Aikido and Hand to Hand Combat.  In 1978, he began training in Tang Soo Do under Master Rick Bailey at Broken Arrow Tang Soo Do, in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

After moving to southern California from Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1982, he assumed ownership of a studio in Costa Mesa, CA.  In 1991, the Sports Club / Irvine, an exclusive fitness facility that catored to celebrities and high end cliental, asked him to join their team to bring them the highest quality martial arts program available.  He transferred his area of operations to the Sports Club and taught there for nearly 20 years.  While there as head instructor, he, along with one of his student Mr. Danny Lockhart, established one the most successful martial arts programs at the University of California, Irvine (UCI).
Master Ross has been a competitor since 1977.  He has won numerous national, regional and state martial arts awards in both fighting and in forms.  Included in these accomplishments is his 1st place title from the 1986 World Marital Arts Championships held in London, England. 
He is recognized around the world for his academic knowledge and technical skills and abilities in the art of Tang Soo Do.  He has served as the bodyguard for various celebrities, taught members of Royal families, CEO’s and instructed Hand-to-Hand Combat techniques to military personnel.  He has also worked in motion picture industry with actors such as Jean-Claude Van Damme, Louis Gossett Jr.,Peter Coyote, and others.
Master Ross is truly dedicated to the growth and development of Tang Soo Do.  He has devoted the majority of his life toward helping others understand the principals of self-defense and develop the skills required to master the martial art of Tang Soo Do.
